Senior Construction Project Manager
Role Overview
The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Manager is to lead and manage the regional construction Site Supervisors and their respective projects and teams in alignment with the company’s strategic plan and core values. This position will lead the efforts in establishing the project assignments, scheduling, estimating, negotiating with subcontractors, acquisition of material resources, monitoring progress and performance, evaluation and reporting. The Senior Project Manager is tasked with the responsibility to assist each Site Supervisor with project execution such that a high-quality product is completed on time, within budget, and has achieved the desired results.
This position reports directly to the Chief of Operations for Backyard ADU’s.
Responsibilities
Assume full leadership and management responsibility to:
Organizational:
Develop personnel goals within the construction team.
Lead, train, mentor and motivate all personnel within the construction team to
achieve goals and objectives.Evaluate performance of personal goals and objectives.
Recruit and select appropriate team members as necessary to develop
organizational culture, values and reputation with Backyard ADUs’ customers, suppliers, home factory, municipal officers and sub contractors.
Strategic and General Planning:
assist in the planning, development and implementation of the Company’s Strategic
Plan objectives within the Backyard ADU’s construction team(s).identify opportunities for the company for growth and utilization of resources.
serve on appropriate Backyard ADUs committees.
Operational:
lead and manage the Regional Site Supervisors and projects in alignment with the
company’s strategic plan and core values.lead, encourage, promote and expect a strong safety culture for all personnel
within the construction team(s).oversee the project management of new construction projects, in line with
company core values and Mission and Vision.
ensure that each PM’s project is managed and completed on time, within or below budget.
Receive and approve invoices from SubContractors and forward them to Backyard’s finance team for payment
provide guidance to ensure that a quality product is built to specification and state and municipal requirements and that the contract is adhered too.
assist with modifying the project during implementation as objectives and conditions change.
strive for optimizing project profitability.
assist with identifying potential problems and implement plans to
resolve/overcome/rectify.monitor the progress of the Site Supervisor’s project(s) against the plan at every stage.
assist in the evaluation of how successful each Site Supervisor’s project objectives were met.
oversee evaluation of all Site Supervisor’s projects for improvement and performance
evaluation.ensure that Site Supervisor’s project calendars are completed, project checklists are up to date, and project folders are up to date with the most current information.
oversee and assist with Site Supervisor’s project kick-off meetings.
oversee and assist with the development of the construction methodology/plan (build
strategy)assist with the preparation/release of labor & material task/subtask descriptions (Project Handbook that is printed and put in every unit on set day)
oversee and assist with each Site Supervisor’s project construction schedule.
oversee and assist with each Site Supervisor’s project status & project progress efforts.
oversee and assist with each Site Supervisor’s change order process
assist/review/recommend major subcontract agreements
oversee procurement of each Site Supervisor’s project(s) required materials for projects.
oversee and assist with the preparation/submittal of each Site Supervisor’s final project labor & material costs to executive management.
participate, review and provide constructive feedback for estimates and proposals.
assist with the development of company operational procedures, policies and
standards as requested.

intimately familiar with the IRC, IBC, and IECC construction codes.

familiar with and understand the financial management of multiple projects.
Skills and Abilities
Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required, including:
experience with home building and/or manufactured housing operations
ability to interpret and understand organization’s policies and standards
knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word
processing, spreadsheets (Excel and Google Sheets), managing files and records (Google Drive), and other procedures and terminology.excellent communication skills with the ability to read and write effectively,
speak with clarity and listen activelythe ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing, giving
full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Qualifications
high school diploma or equivalent
degree or certificate from an accredited technical college or school, or
minimum of 10 years of construction experience and/or training in manufactured
housing related to project management, engineering, production and/or
operations management.or equivalent combination of education and experience
Hours
Working hours are flexible in order to balance personal life and client service, e.g. If work can take a Saturday, life can take a Thursday.
35 hours of direct project work
5 hours of local community involvement
Self-Driven Continuing education is expected outside of direct project work.
Location
Work will occur remotely but bi-weekly visits to each region will be required.
Pay
Base Salary: $125,000 – $175,000
